This is a photograph of Alonso Jose Carvalho da Silva. He is the goalkeeper for Chiang Rai United. Earlier this evening he tried, unsuccessfully, to get a fellow professional, and compatriot, sent off by going down clutching his face and claiming to have been head-butted. Television pictures clearly show that no such thing happened.
And what was the ref doing? He was less than six feet away, and obviously saw the incident, but failed to take any action against the Brazilian. Let's hope that the TPL/FAT aren't as spineless and dish out some sort of punishment to Mr Alonso Jose Carvalho da Silva. If they do their job properly, he will either be banned or fined for such a shameful display.
There is no place in the game for anyone who cheats in this way and it is up to the authorities to act and make an example of him. Hang your head in shame, Alonso. You are a disgrace!
