What an anti-climax. Not much to report. Chonburi were the better side in the first half by a long way. I lost count of the number of corners we had but our old habit of not being able to score is still with us.
Pattaya improved in the second half, and went close a couple of times, but never really looked like scoring either.
I felt Zico got his team selection wrong again. Kone on the bench? No Douglas? I would have started with them both; their height would certainly have been an advantage for our corners.
As for the referee! Terrible. He was just as bad for both teams, but inconsistent doesn't cover it. And as for the sending off. What a joke! Thank goodness it didn't cost us.
A quick note to any clubs travelling to the Nong Prue "Stadium". Take your own crowd because the local support was very poor last night. They announced the crowd as 3,500 and well over half of them were supporting Chonburi.
On a positive note, the safety aspect of the ground wasn't as big an issue as I'd feared. This may have been due to a rather dull game and a flat atmosphere, but thankfully they do seem to have it sorted.
