Match Report
On the final day of the 2008 season, a couple of thousand Chonburians travelled to Bangkok Bank, every single one of them harbouring the faint hope that we would see our team be crowned champions for the second year running. All we needed was for us to beat the home side and our nearest rivals - and league leaders - PEA, to lose at Bang Phra.
There was a cracking atmosphere in the stands that day and even though the bad news from the other match - an eventual 4-1 away win - was filtering through at regular intervals, the fans remained in good spirits.
At the end of the game - a 2-1 victory - there was a good natured pitch invasion and the players received a standing ovation as recognition of their efforts during the course of the year and how close they had come to retaining the title.
