Well, after that I have to take a deep breath. Entertainment value for the neutral, 9/10. Tactical and technical value, 2/10. For the coaches, a visit to the hospital to have blood pressure checked. As the match wore on and especially towards the end of the second half, it resembled a frantic schoolboy game. No shape or formation, both teams charging end to end creating chances and open goals with seemingly every attack. Frantic stuff, and as I said, good entertainment.

Yoo Byung-Soo's clinical finish, midway through the first period of extra time, was enough to see the Sharks progress to the last four, following a tough 120 minutes at Thammasat.

What a result! As enjoyable as it was unexpected. Even though Bangkok Utd aren’t (yet) firing on all cylinders, a 4-2 win at their place is still a major achievement. Sure, we rode our luck at times, but we came with a game plan and it paid off. You could see that the players were concentrating, working hard, and determined to get something out of the fixture. So, overall, a wonderful night in a cold and wet Rangsit. It was a pleasure to have been there – along with 102 others – and went a long way to erasing the memory of that 7-2 defeat a couple of years ago. As I Tweeted joyfully after the final whistle: It was the best performance at Thammasat since The Clash in 1982. Happy days!

After a fairly even first half, Chonburi turned on the style after the break to romp to a convincing win and spark joyous scenes. It really should have been more and the visitors' second goal came with the last kick off the match, to give the final score an uneven look. The title is still in our own hands.

As comfortable as the score line suggests. We scored in the first few minutes and then sat back as Utd created a few decent chances before deservedly equalising. However, this seemed to wake up our players and we took back the initiative. A large (well behaved) turnout - how nice it is to see all four sides of the ground populated - and a good performance from the team, helped to put the problems of a difficult week behind us.
