Nakhon Ratchasima fan, Russ John is next up with his 2021/22 season preview.
Cautiously optimistic, top 10 would be great.
How do you think the lack of a regular pre season will affect your early performances?
Swatcats have been playing training matches so not much affect.
What are your thoughts on the plan for the way the season will start? And what would you have done differently?
Well full marks to the FAT for having a go. I personally would not have attempted a start so early but I hope it all goes according to plan.
How long do you think it will be before things can return to "normal"?
Hmm, difficult. Depends on vaccination rates. I would tentatively hope that season 2022 starting September may see football back to normal.
Once we're allowed back in, which home games are you most looking forward to?
All Isaan opponents, Nong Bua, Konkaen Utd and ....errrr!!!
And which away games are you most looking forward to?
Always enjoy Chonburi, would like to get to Konkaen Utd.
How do you plan to follow the matches you're not allowed to attend?
Well if my internet connection holds up, online.
What are your thoughts on your team's opening four fixtures?
Three winnable games could get us off to a great start.
What do you make of your new signings?
Three unknowns, Kwame Karikari, Marco Sahanek and Kwabena Appiah, just hope they deliver.
And what about the players you've let go?
Kanuk was a massive loss and I was sad to see Jessie Curran go.
Which players will have the most impact this season?
Amadou will always be a threat. Hard to tell if our newcomers will have a major impact.
If you could re-sign one of your club's former players, at the peak of his powers, who would it be and why?
Lee Tuck, I just loved his spunk.
If you could give your head coach one piece of advice, what would it be?
Five at the back with defensive midfield cover. Lamp it up to Appiah and Karikari - this is going to be a no frills, no nonsense season.
What do you think of your club's new kits?
It's orange, it's OK. Cannot really get excited about shirts when we cannot attend matches.
What song would you choose for your team's run out music on match days?
"Things can only get better", D:Ream.
Who are your favourites to win the league?
No one will come near the Glass Rabbits, next question.
Who else do you think can challenge?
Usual suspects plus your lot!!
Who is going down?
Chiang Mai, Konkaen Utd and Suphanburi.
Which team would you most like to beat this season?
It would be nice to beat all three of our Isaan neighbours. To be top dogs in Isaan would be a real achievement.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
These are hard times, be patient, be positive, stay safe, enjoy the football in whatever form it presents itself.
