Match Report

Thai Port were comprehensively beaten by a rampant Chonburi side in front of 7,856 spectators at Chonburi Stadium earlier today. A brace from Krirkrit Thaweekarn and a further goal from Geoffrey Doumeng gave The Sharks a commanding 3-0 half-time lead. Substitute Narul Sriyangem added a late fourth via a wicked deflection off Termchai Promweechai's outstretched leg.
The defeat means that Thai Port have lost the opening day fixture, without scoring a goal, in each of the last five seasons! Steven Robb came closest to netting for the visitors, but it just wasn't to be his lucky day. The Scotsman was twice denied by the woodwork, firstly with a far-post header and then with a 25-yard left-footed strike. Other than that, there was precious little to get excited about.
