A disappointing day out for the 1,800+ Chonburi who made the holiday trip to the north of the capital. It had all started so promisingly when we went close in the first minute of the game. A left wing cross was headed down by Kone but Ekkapan's shot was blocked by the home keeper's foot. And, in terms of what we created, that was it until the last minute of injury time when Kone himself shot wide when maybe he should have done better.

In between these two efforts the home side had enough chances to win half a dozen games but thanks to some good work by Kosin and some poor finishing, the scrappy goal in the 15th minute was all that seperated the two sides.

This really was a bad day at the office for Chonburi. We struggled to find any rhythm and I lost count of the number of passes that went astray. Understandaby some of the players became frustrated and this just lead to more mistakes being made. The pitch can't have helped - it looks like a billiard table from the stands but on closer inspection is more akin to a ploughed field - but I'm not going to use that as an excuse. We were poor.

There also has to be a slight question mark over Zico's tactics. He chose to start with Da Silva (I don't know if this was a last minute choice due to Michael Byrne failling a late fitness test) but the team didn't really play to his strengths. Even though he was having a miserable afternoon the timing of his withdrawal seemed strange. We had a right wing corner one minute before half time. Probably not the smartest thing to take off the tallest man on the pitch and replace him with the shortest!

Personally, I would have gone with three up front, with Piopob joining Kone and Da Silva. The big man, little man, big man combination would have caused the home defenders all sorts of problems.

Anyway, upwards and onwards. We have a chance to put things right pretty quickly as our next match, away to TOT, has been brought forward twenty four hours to Saturday. Let's hope that we can put this result behind us and find some form. The only bright spot from yesterday was the fact that I arrived home just in time to watch "Seinfeld". That speaks volumes.
