Interview With Jakkapan Pornsai
14th July, 2018

Q - You're currently on loan from Bangkok Utd so how are you enjoying your time in Ratchaburi?
A - Yes I'm enjoying the city. It’s quiet, but very nice. Also the people here are so nice. It all means that I have a nice slow life here.

Q - And what are the best things about being at the football club?
A- Ratchaburi is one of the best teams in Thai league so I'm so happy to be here. The best thing for me personally is that I’ve started every game since I came and I am enjoying my football here.

Q - The new Ratchaburi Stadium is a lovely place to visit. What do you think about it?
A - The stadium is very nice. For me, this is the best football stadium in Thailand. The location, the atmosphere, the facilities and the pitch. Everything is perfect.

Q - Please can you tell us a bit about your coach, Somchai Maiwilai, and how he operates?
A - He is so open minded. He listens to the players and we all talk together about the way we are going to play. This means that we understand exactly what we need to do and about the way we play.

Q - What are your training sessions like?
A - We focus game by game and we try to focus on the next match that is coming up. We always recreate the real match situation in training and work on a lot of set piece practice. We don’t do as many small training  games that they do at other clubs.

Q - What have been your impressions of Chonburi this season?
A - They have a lot of young players, but they play with maturity, which really impresses me.

Q - Which of our players are you most wary of?
A- Number 8, Worachit. He has very good vision and is so smart with and without the ball. We need to take care of him. He is a very good player.

Q - And which of your players do we need to look out for?
A - Maybe me! Ha, ha! Yes, me!  If you give me space and time, I can kill you!

Q - How have you been preparing or Saturday's match?
A - I’ve been preparing like I always do. Just keeping my good condition, eating the right food, sleeping well and focusing on the opponents.

Q - What are your expectations for the game?
A - What I expect is 3 points and I’ll score some goals.

Q - What are Ratchaburi's targets for the rest of the season?
A - Try to finish the highest position in the league and win the FA Cup.

Q - Realistically, where do you see Ratchaburi in five years time?
A - This team can be the top of this league because of the ambition shown by the president. We have a lot of good players and they can take the team to the top.

Q - Which teams in T1 have impressed you this season?
A - Prachuap FC.  They have just been promoted to T1, but now they are in the top five.

Q - Which international players have impressed you this year?
A - Aung Thu at Police Tero  has been the stand out Asian player and has attracted many fans from Myanmar. They are the new phenomenon in the Thai League

Q - And Thai players?
A - A lot of Thai players have performed well this season, but for me, Sasalak Haiprakon from Buriram is the one that stands out. He is one of key players that has helped Buriram to the top of the table. He has skill, he’s fast and powerful. I think that these are his strong points.

Q - Who do you think will win the league?
A - Buriram United because they are more experienced and are currently seven points clear. It’s true that Bangkok United and Thai Port still have a chance, but I think finally Buriram will win it.

Q - What are your personal ambitions for the rest of the season?
A - I'll do my best to ensure the team finish in the top five, score goals, give assists and win the FA Cup.

Q - What are your personal long term plans?
A - I’m still not sure. I just want to play as long as I can and when I retire,  I want to be a coach.

Q - Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A - Yes. At Ratchaburi the club is like a family. When we play home, we have meetings at the president's house and his mom cooks for the players. We all eat together and that makes me feel warm and good.
