It's always satisfying to see home fans streaming out of the ground when there are still ten minutes left to play. And such was the case on Saturday. A four goal blitz in the last quarter of an hour saw off a spirited Chainat side and gave Chonburi their biggest win of the season. Admittedly the final score flattered us somewhat but there's no doubt that we deserved the victory.

The spirit and determination that has been in evidence since the League Cup defeat was there again and confidence seems to be growing. Things might have been different had the Hornbills taken their chances in the first half but they didn't so there's really no use speculating. We can spend the next week - seven days without a game! - basking in the glory of this performance and using it as a platform to launch the unlikliest of title challenges.

However, it wasn't only the players who stepped up to the plate at the weekend, the fans too deserve a mention. Many of them - like us - had taken the opportunity of the extended weekend to spend a couple of days in the area; there was definitely a holiday vibe on the terraces. And, as a result, the atmosphere was as good as I've experienced at an away match in a long time. Even the "day trippers" got into the spirit of things and added to the riot of noise and colour. Whether or not this inspired the team or not - I'd like to think it did - it certainly made for an enjoyable experience and one we won't forget in a hurry.

Great evening, wonderful result and really clinical finishing. Could this be the start of a second leg run, as per last season?

I watched it live on True Sport5 here in Bangkok and boy was that pay back for the end of last season. It was smashing to see their fans streaming out 5-10 minutes before the end.

We are 5 points behind the leading three now, in a mediocre TPL, and I believe we are in with a shout, if we continue to finish like that. However, we need to win all three of our matches between now and the World Cup break, especially the home match against Buriram Utd.

If we do that, it really could be on, as Saturday night’s result between the top 2 suited us perfectly. Without a midweek match in the League Cup this Wednesday we can rest up and next Saturday's match at home to Ratchaburi could be the pivotal one for our season's run in.

I think that it was a good performance, although 5-1 probably flattered us, it was a great result that helped to erase the memory of last year just a little bit. If we can win our next three games, we could really be back in the mix. For once the last break worked in our favour and, points wise at least, we've started to climb back up the table to where we belong.

I felt the first half was fairly even and they exposed our weaknesses down the flanks on several occasions, especially for their goal. But, strangely, I think the equaliser worked in our favour. Had we gone in 1-0 up I would have expected our usual second half tactics of sitting deeper to 'protect' our advantage. As it was, at 1-1, we had to come out, push forward more and play. And, although it wasn't always vintage stuff, we generally took control of the game, looked like we were enjoying our football and got better and more confident as the half wore on. And that confidence we were gaining contributed to some clinical finishing.

Lastly, I've got to mention our movement up front, especially in the second half. After weeks of looking jaded and static, Thiago and Leandro looked to be full of running, with good movement, which continually pulled their defenders out of position. More of the same please. And, we're used to seeing Nurul running at defenders, but again, it's good to see him taking his defensive duties seriously. Adding that part to his game makes him a much better all round player, unlike last year's game at Chainat when he looked out of his depth.
