Q - Please could you start by telling us a little bit about yourself.
A – Hi. My name is Ning Natkamol. I’m 26 years old, I live in Bangkok and I work as a Human Resources Officer for a Japanese textile company.
Q - How long have you been supporting BEC Tero?
A – This is my first season supporting BEC Tero but I’ve been interested in the Thai Premier League for two years. Osotspa M-150 were the first team I supported because my close friend works there. At first I didn’t know much about Thai Football but when I went to watch the game at the stadium, it was a new experience for me and I liked so much.
Q - What first got you interested in following the team?
A- As I told you before, Osotspa is also my favorite team. In season 2010,one Brazilian player joined them who is my favorite player. He is Cleiton Silva. This season, he moved to play for Bec Tero , so that’s why I started supporting this team. Another reason is that I live in Bangkok and the BEC Tero home stadium is located in centre of the town, very convenient for attending home games.
Q - How would you sum up the first leg of your season?
A –This season BEC Tero have many good players, good team work and are getting stronger. I think we can be in the top four.
Q - Which players should we look out for on Wednesday?
A – Of course, if Cleiton wasn’t injured, he’d be worth to watching. However BEC have other good players ; Ekaphan Inthasen, our captain Rangsan Vivatchaichok who will face Terdsak of Chonburi, and I think Natthaporn Phanrit will start this game for the first time in his BEC Tero shirt.
Q - Your stadium is in a great location - what are the club doing to attract Bangkokians to the matches?
A – Yes, it is good for Thephasadin Stadium to be in a great location , very easy to get there by skytrain or bus. There are also many attractive places around there ; MBK , Paragon, Siam Square etc. All fans could probably get any food in the area. At the present, I think they are getting more fans due to the fact they are playing very well.
Q - Do many of the old Nong Jork based fans still come to matches?
A – I think they do because BEC Tero have many fan clubs, both old fans and new fans, especially this season because they are performing well. And I’m sure there will be an increase in fans.
Q - When Chonburi were promoted to the TPL, BEC Tero were probably the biggest team in the league. Do you think you can scale these heights again?
A – Yes. This season BEC Tero are getting stronger. Top three is the target and we will be the top of the league in two to three years. I hope.
Q - What has it been like to see a lot of other club overtake BEC Tero in terms of success, support and marketing?
A – BEC Tero is a big team like Chonburi FC, Muangthong United, Buriram united and Bangkok Glass but last season they only finished in the middle position in the league table. This time they have improved ; “Dream Bigger” They are always looking for great players to join them. I think in TPL 2012, they will win at least one championship. When the team succeeds, I think other things will follow, such as more fans coming to support, better atmosphere at the stadium and marketing will be more interesting.
Q - I've heard criticism that there is very little atmosphere generated by home fans at Tero games. Would you care to defend your fans? Or do you agree?
A – I absolutely agree. I would like to see home fans create more atmosphere to motivate Tero players. Honestly, sometimes I think “Am I at a Tero away game?” because the opposition fans are cheering louder than us.
Q - What could be done to improve the matchday atmosphere?
A – More fans at the stadium and the crowd cheering for ninety minutes. I think the fan club is very important to the players.
Q - Are you happy with your coach?
A – Yes I am. I think he is a very good coach . he employs good tactics and always studies the playing style of the opposite team. I think he works hard in every match. Our current position proves this.
Q - If you could give him one piece of advice, what would it be?
A – I have nothing. I’m satisfied with his job.
Q - Are you happy with the way your club is run?
A – Absolutely. I know they try to do their best every match to make sure that all fans are happy. All the players play very well as a team and the coaching staff work so hard.
Q - What advice would you give to the club's owners?
A – I think it would be better if BEC Tero had a bigger stadium to accommodate the fans which are increasing every day.
Q - Which areas of the team need strengthening?
A – I think the starting eleven is fine but there are obviously some problems with the depth of the squad. The second choice players can’t replace the first team as well as they should.
Q - Do you think you can keep hold of Cleiton Silva?
A – Cleiton plays well with his teammates which has helped him to become the TPL top-scorer at the moment. In the future he might move to another team, but I think that he’ll stay for the time being.
Q - What do you think about your new signings?
A – These are great signings because the three new players have done a good job with their former clubs. Tanaboon played for R-BAC BEC Tero and now has got a great chance to prove himself with a big team in the TPL. I’ve never seen him play before , but I'm sure he has the talent to make BEC Tero interested in him. Bonai, the striker of the Indonesian national team has joined BEC Tero and brought a lot of interest from fans in his country. I think this good for marketing. I hope he can adapt himself with his new club soon. And the last one, Arzu ex-Real Betis midfielder , who played in La Liga for 10 years. Everyone knows that Spanish football is very strong and has good tactics. I think all of them are quality players.
Q - Do you think they'll help BEC Tero finish in the top three this season?
A - Absolutely , I actually think we’ll finish in the top three in the TPL and be champions of one of the cups: FA Cup or Toyota League Cup. These are now our targets for this season. We’ve got a striker and a midfielder who are quality and experienced players. I hope they will adapt themselves soon to help BEC Tero achieve the targets.
Q - Which of your new signings are you most excited about and why?
A - I'm interested in Arzu because he has experience in La Liga. I think Spanish football has good skills, good tactics and beautiful playing. For the first leg of the TPL, BEC Tero signed José Franco Gómez who played for Real Betis B. He is quality player and plays well for the team. I think both of them will play together very well.
Q - Which has been the best team you have seen this season?
A – Muangthong United. They still haven’t lost any games.
Q - And the best player?
A – Cleiton Silva is the best foreign player and Teerasil Dangda is the best Thai player. Both are currently top-scorer together.
Q - Which away have fans impressed you the most?
A – All away fans have impressed me.
Q - What are your opinions about Chonburi FC?
A – They are big team and have very nice fans. They always have good match results and challenge for the league title. I particularly like Pipob, Therdsak and Sinthaweechai. They all perform very well. In the game against Chainat, the shark make me so surprised - what a great come back !!!
Q – What did you think about the match on Saturday?
A – Both teams played very well, In the first half BEC Tero had more possession and created a lot of chances to score goals. Unfortunately, in the second half, the hosts lost one of their defenders due to injury so some tactics had to be changed. I remember a super save by Sinthaweechai from a Tero strikers header. Finally Chonburi FC finished stronger and scored two goals.
Q - Would you like to make a score prediction for Wednesday’s match?
A – BEC Tero win, 1-0.
Q - Anything else you'd like to add?
A – I would like to invite Thai people to support Thai Football , Now the TPL is growing and many foreigners are interested in this. The things I want to see most in Thai Football are fair play and fair judgment. Even though we are the opposition, when the match finished, everyone is friends.
Q – Thank you very much, Ning.
A - My pleasure.
