Season Review by Tim Spear: 2011

Tim Spear reviews the 2011 season

Q - What is your name?
A - Tim Spear

Q - Where do you live?
A - Pattaya

Q - How long have you been supporting Chonburi FC?
A - 18 months

Q - How many matches did you manage to get to this year?
A – More than I thought - 33 in total

Q - Which was your best match of the season?
A – My favourite was TOT at home, we were just outstanding in movement going forward. It was delightful to watch, and the score could have been doubled.

Q - Who is your player of the season?
A - Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool

Q - Which was your favourite away trip of the season?
A – Muang Thong on December 25th

Q - Which was the best opposition team you saw this season?
A – Nasaf

Q - Who was the best opposition player you saw this season?
A - Not really sure as I focus in the Chonburi players.

Q - What was your biggest disappointment of the season?
A – Seeing Kenneth Akpueze being shown a red card against PEA, from a blatant bit of cheating. The ref was conned!!

Q - What was the funniest thing that happened to you this season?
A – Always missing the first five minutes of each second half, and not realising we had lost at home to Nasaf until the end of the game.

Q - What was your favourite individual incident of the season?
A – Some of the comments about Robbie Fowler. Footballing wise Pattaya's second goal against us at home was a real cracker.

Q - What did the club get right this season?
A –  Playing great football in the first half of the season

Q - What did the club get wrong this season?
A – Second half of the season, the new prices for season tickets, and having to move to a new part of the ground next season. What happened to the games that we paid for and missed as season ticket holders? Facing 50% increase in prices and losing two matches is poor. Season tickets for children the same price as adults? It is a family game after all.

The club failed to address the biased refereeing with the Thai FA.

Q - How do you rate the team's overall performance this season?
A – Very enjoyable

Q - What are your hopes for 2012?
A – Always the same to win every game comfortably, but realistically (or less so) to have referees that make decisions fairly and consistently.

Q - Anything else you'd like to add?
A – We all love Chonburi FC
