NEW!! Judas by Jamie Pinder: 2020

Interesting that you reposted that interview with me today. There’s a fabulous story goes with the photo of the departed Andres Tunez and I.

It was taken at Don Muang airport on the way to Chiang Rai when we flew on the same flight as the team. Tunez bought coffee for everyone at the gate but Therathon Bunmathan was being a miserable sod and sat alone with Narubadin, away from the team. I figured he just had his own way of chilling out. That was mid-March 2016.

Fast forward to the end of April and we’ve just finished a game at BBCU. In conversation with someone who was part of the inner sanctum at the club, two of us were told that Therathon was moving to Muang Thong Utd in May. To us it was utter rubbish and nothing more.

A week later we hosted Chainat in an awful goalless draw. Therathon spent most of the match out of position, playing right midfield, centre forward, anywhere but left back. He was even cursing the coach when asked to return to his position.

A few days later the news broke of his transfer and it was the biggest story of the year. Just to think, I’d had this exclusive story all the time and never believed it. Wish I’d known Paul Murphy better in those days! At least I was there to see this Judas betray his loyal followers.
