Pre Match Haikus (Part Two): 2014

When Masahiro Wada was appointed Chonburi head coach at the start of the 2014 season, I attempted to write a pre match Haiku for all our first leg fixtures. Here are my efforts from April, May and June.

Haiku: a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5,7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons.

6th April: Chonburi v Chiang Rai Utd
Over The Moon?
Nine P.M. tonight
Will I be over the moon?
Sick as a parrot?

9th April: Samut Songkhram v Chonburi
Samut Songkhram
On dry land today
Won't need snorkels and flippers
Might see some football!

11th May: Chonburi v Air Force Utd
Howzat!
Mystic Brian's wrong
We'll run up a cricket score
Declare at half time

21st May: Police Utd v Chonburi
Third Round Day
Gripped by cup fever
Third Round Day is so special
Bet we get beat!

14th June: Chonburi v Chainat
The Pessimist In Me
Another matchday
Fear, dread and trepidation
Sense of foreboding
